Exclusive Video Premiere + Special Halloween Show!

Exclusive Premiere: Full Band Video of "Rocks & Gravel"
As a small sign of my appreciation for all of you faithful subscribers and show-goers, I'd like to give you exclusive early access to this unreleased full band arrangement of "Rocks & Gravel," one of the singles from my upcoming EP The Things You Forgot (out Dec. 6th!). It features my new band with Eden Rayz on cello, Adam Gurczak on upright bass, and Julian Loida on drums. I am overwhelmed with gratitude when I think of the many ways you all support me - coming to shows, buying merch, following my social media accounts, streaming my songs, signing up for this newsletter! I cannot do any of this without you!! I hope you enjoy this little token!

Special Halloween Show!

I'm not usually so enthusiastic about Halloween, in fact most years I'm either a scrooge about it or I dress up as Annie Hall. This year, however, is different! Few know what I have been working on for the Lizard Lounge show on 10.31, but I'll let you guys in on it: I'm going as Bob Dylan from the Rolling Thunder Revue. I've learned a bunch of Dylan songs from that tour, so expect an unusual set list from me!

Songwriting
In this class — part investigation, part workshop — we will explore how to write haunting songs by dissecting a handful of the best. Watch a video introduction here.

Song Development
Lyrics? Check. Melody? Check! Now what?

The life cycle of your song has just begun! In this song development course, you’ll learn the next steps and set of skills you’ll need to get your song ready for recording and for other’s to play it. We’ll workshop arrangements and learn about chart making and basic demoing. By the end of this class you’ll have a strong sense of your song and the confidence to let the world know about it!

Requirement: you need to have only ONE complete song (lyrics, chords, & melody) that we can work on throughout the class.

Recommendations
After five years, I'm back at Berklee College of Music for my final semester and I'm currently in the midst of midterms. When I need to buckle down and focus on school work, reading, or even lyric writing, I turn to this trusty playlist (here it is on Apple Music) of minimalist instrumental pieces. Yes, I've included a lot of Philip Glass and also the entire Music For 18 Musicians piece by Steve Reich - it really helps me, though! Happy focusing!

Thank you for subscribing and reading! I hope to see you soon.
