Live Stream Replay, Radium Girls on NPR, Writing Perfume
Folk Alliance Showcase Available for Replay!
Happy 2021, Everyone! I know I've been quieter than usual, but it's because wonderful things are in the works right now! If you've been curious to know what I've been up to lately, come tune in to my Folk Alliance Showcase! Last week I got to safely spend a day filming songs from my new album at the historic Club Passim with my pal Mike Siegel on bass for this very showcase! I'll be playing almost every song from that record, and then some!
Experience it again (or for the first time if you missed it!) at YouTube and Facebook.
(It will be available for replay over the next few days in case you miss it!)
This is a free show, though there will be a "virtual tip jar."

"Radium Girls" Featured on WBUR
Definitely the coolest thing that happened last year was having my song "Radium Girls" featured by my local NPR station! It was picked as one of the top 19 songs from Massachusetts entered in the 2020 Tiny Desk Contest!
You can read Karen Muller's very kind words about that song and my friend Grace Givertz's song "Bitter Lemons" here!
~ I've since made edits to my "Radium Girls" song – I performed the updated version at the 2/24 livestream! Be sure to check it out! ~

I've never really been a perfume sort of gal, but since the pandemic, I've found it's a great way to add dimension to my day, especially when almost everything I do now happens in my living room. It doubles as a great way to test your sense of smell helping to curb the "do I have covid" anxiety a bit!
I've been getting small perfume samples that cost ~$2 (some are more expensive, but they're generally very cheap) over on The Perfumed Court, and that's been a fun thing to look forward to!
Now you might be wondering what on Earth perfume has to do with writing? Well! For Christmas my husband got me super secret "writing perfume." I make sure to put it on whenever I'm starting a writing session; it's been a great way to artificially create an atmosphere that's different from the one I'm in when I do work or lounge around. My mind smells it and knows that it's go-time!
While I will not be revealing the scent of my own writing perfume, I must highly recommend this as a tool for writers. Make it special! Treat it like a secret superpower! Have fun with it!
